Thanks...

To all who have sent thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement. I haven't been updating any of my blogs lately, and you can imagine, I just haven't felt like it. I miss you ALL- many of you have been a part of my life for almost a year, and feel like family. Even though the strike is still going, I do have a little good news. I was finally able to get a job- and one I like! I'm working at a hotel about 2 minutes from my house. It's midnight to 8am, wednesday-friday, and 4pm to midnight on saturday and sunday. It's perfect hours for me, considering I'm a night-owl anyway.

My husband is in Minnesota until next monday. His brother is getting married on saturday. I do hate I didn't get to go to the wedding, although, as you know, Minnesota isn't my favorite place to visit. (No offense native Minnesotians). It's just a huge culture shock when you're used to a decent sized town and MOUNTAINS, to go to a land that's completely flat and treeless, and less than 1000 people. It's a little overwhelming for me. The last time I went, I pretty much depleted my Xanax prescription.

Anyway, I've been trying to keep myself busy. I went to my friends' Justin and Jake's house on saturday after being hired at the hotel. Our friend, Mark, was there too. I hadn't seen him in so long! He was one of our best friends from Proffitts'. Between work and baseball, he's been really busy, so we don't see much of him. We all went to Roan Mountain for awhile. I LOVE going up on the roan. It's about 20 degrees cooler up there, and much more wind than the "lowlands", but always pleasant. The rhododendron festival is coming up in a couple of weeks. I'm really looking forward to going up to see the gardens. It's been YEARS since I've been up on the mountain when they're in bloom.

More news that I haven't shared with you- I'm a Godmother- AGAIN! :0) Gavin Luke Lewis was born at 11:58am on May 23rd, 2006. He was 20 inches long and weighed 7lbs 9 ozs. I'm so proud! Monger finally decided that she was going to have to have an epidural. When she had Caleb in 2000, the epidural only took on half of her body. She was in so much pain and miserable by the time she gave birth. I told her, I couldn't watch her go through that again. It hurt me too badly seeing my best friend in pain like that, and not being able to do anything about it. Luckily, her epidural worked perfectly this time, and had no problem giving birth to Luke.

As always, I have pictures for your enjoyment-

Thanks again to all who still check in on me, it truly means a lot!

PS: Blogger is screwed and won't let me add my pics right now- so I'll add them when I can!

Life... As I Know It... Sucks...

Sorry that it's been awhile since I've been around. Life, is hell right now. My perfect little life was blown all to hell on monday. At 11:00pm on monday, NFS, my husband's company, went on strike. As of the end of the month, there will be no more health insurance, no nothing. I am absolutely devistated. All they were asking was for a fair contract, and the company proposed a shit contract on health care and pensions. Neither of us have a job, and both are looking. Please keep us, and all of the employees of NFS in your thoughts and prayers, that this all may be put behind us soon...
